Welcome to the Eason Disaster Prep website! You’ve learned more about me on the home page (to the side of it), so I thought I’d share a little more about the purpose of this website.

After working with thousands of people (maybe tens of thousands) in disaster preparedness and then on the other side in disaster response, I realized there were plenty of questions about disaster preparedness. My friends ask me questions (yes, that prompts many of the posts) and I hear questions when we’re teaching disaster preparedness in the CERT Academy or at outreach events.

All of the questions are amazing questions! I realized if they had those questions, then other people also had those questions. Not everything has a clear answer. Preparedness is personal! There is no way that I can tell you exactly how to prepare for every type of scenario (though, it’s not really that hard – I have an article about that). Instead, YOU need to identify your specific needs, disasters in your area, and what works best for you.

I created this website to give you ideas, share examples and stories, and even suggest products. There are still some unsolved challenges in unique disaster preparedness situations that I hope to find solutions to over time as well. I’ll drag my twin sister into testing products and share our results in articles here. I hope to provide useful information that can help you prepare for disasters and crisis.
